Grêmio's second goal against Flamengo, this Wednesday (22.09), at Olímpico, was very similar to two goals scored by Fluminense in the classic last Sunday (19.09), at Engenhão. And defender Jean left the field upset with the fact that, according to him, he failed in the move in which Jonas scored his 12th goal in the Brazilian Championship.
The experienced red-black defender, who was even considered a starter in place of Ronaldo Angelim, who would be rested, only came on in the second half, precisely in place of the number 4, and, with great sincerity and self-criticism, lamented his performance in the duel with Grêmio.
"It was a good result. I ended up coming on and I take responsibility for the second goal, which couldn't have happened. We almost lost because of a mistake I made. You can't play like that when you're playing at Flamengo. But the team did well and got the result," he said.
Jean's defensive partner, David, however, said that the blame wasn't solely on his defensive partner and shared the responsibility with the entire group. He also said he was satisfied with the result and has already planned the duel with Palmeiras, on Saturday (25.09), at Engenhão.
"We have to share the responsibility. Everyone made mistakes. I could have been in the way, whoever was behind was taking the ball away, but it went past everyone and we conceded the goal. The team did well, pushed forward, and it was a positive result. We got points here, and now, at home, against Palmeiras, we have to go for the three points," he added.
