Porto Alegre (RS) - One of the debutants on Sunday (July 25.07) in Porto Alegre, defender Jean left the field lamenting the loss to Internacional but happy to finally be back playing. After a long time out, the defender made his debut with the Flamengo shirt and showed that he can be useful to coach Rogério Lourenço throughout the season.

The player explained that the team talked extensively in the locker room during halftime of the match against Colorado, which resulted in a better second half than the first. Despite the improvement, however, Flamengo failed to score, and Jean lamented the fact that the team returned to Rio with its first post-World Cup defeat in the Brasileirão.

"At halftime, we got together and decided we had to change our approach. In the second half, we came out better, but it wasn't enough to get the win. Now it will be easier, with one game a week in the Brazilian league. We can work, fix things."

However, the experienced defender knows that there's no time for regrets in the Brasileirão. As the competition is long, there's still much to achieve and plenty of points for Flamengo to earn.

"It's a long championship, but we have an obligation to earn points in every match, because if we don't, a lot changes in the table every week. Playing here isn't easy. Now it's time to work towards the next game," he added.
