The match against Atlético Mineiro, next Thursday (August 26.08), is considered crucial for Flamengo in the Brazilian Championship. The red-and-blacks expect a great game and know it will be a tough match, but they want a win to try and claw their way back to the top of the table. Defender Jean, for example, praised the opponent and highlighted Galo's qualities, but warned that, at Maracanã, Flamengo will have to work hard to secure the three points.

"It's a great team, they have excellent players, a great coach, despite not being in a good moment, and it will be a difficult match, for sure, but we need to impose ourselves and get a good result," he said.

The player believes that the consistency of the Flamengo squad is crucial for the team to endure the marathon of matches ahead in the competition. According to him, everyone needs to be healthy and ready to seize potential opportunities and help Flamengo.

"The players who haven't been playing are aware of their importance to the group. Right now, with so many games, suspensions, injuries, and everyone has to be healthy. The Brazilian Championship isn't won with one team, but with at least 20 high-level players. We have that in the group, and due to a lack of squad, we won't stop winning matches," said Jean, who also sees rest as an important ally in this competition.

"We're going to have a long sequence of games, so it's important to train a lot, but also rest to try to win the game against Atlético, at home, which is our obligation, and get going," he added.
