The traditional smiles and jokes have not ceased to be a characteristic of the Flamengo group, but the long and serious conversation during training this Saturday (28.08) seems to be a milestone for the red-black team. The players spoke with the coaching staff and the chat further motivated the group, which is determined to fight for the top spots in the Brazilian Championship table.

"It was more about the psychological aspect. The older players talked a bit more. The tactical aspect is up to the coach to implement and for us players to do it well. It was a good chat and will definitely help us," revealed defender Jean.

The number 26 is one of the most experienced names in the group and stated that the coach who arrives to take over Flamengo will find a team willing to do everything to defend the Brazilian title.

"The coach who arrives will find a group that has been working hard and wants to continue that way. Although the results haven't been positive in recent games, our team has no shortage of commitment or fight on the field. The players who were here and won the Brazilian Championship want to defend the title, those who have arrived want to win it and take the team to next year's Copa Libertadores. We want to truly honor this jersey and achieve many victories," he stated.

The player believes the team is on the right track and that a little more luck is needed to take advantage of the chances created and put the ball in the net.

"Attitude doesn't guarantee results. I had the opportunity to play for Grêmio in 2008, we had a completely defensive posture and we finished second in the Brazilian Championship. We created three chances per goal, scored one goal, and defended well. You don't need to create ten chances. Suddenly, you create one, put the ball in the net, and get the win. I think we lack a bit of luck, which is also part of football, and in these moments, we have to keep working. Our attackers have quality, and I think it's a matter of time," observed the defender, who warns that the group will fight to recover the lost points in Sunday's game (August 29.08) against Guarani.

We know the Brazilian Championship is long, with many games remaining, but things have to happen in the next one. We talked a lot today and know that action must be taken now. We can't wait for a breakthrough. We have to make it happen. We know our position in the table is dangerous, but a win could take us to the top. We're going in with a winning mindset; the group is aware, and we want to do well in the game.
