On the television in the hospital's ICU, people watched Flamengo play, while the young man, who had just undergone surgery, slept. The doctor tried to wake João Victor Guimarães Carneiro, then eight years old, but was unable to. Until an "unpretentious" goal made the boy open his eyes. From that moment on, a passion for Brazil's biggest club also blossomed. Now 16, he visited CFZ with his father on the day Zico gave an interview to announce his candidacy for FIFA president. The eternal Flamengo idol didn't hesitate and called Rodrigo Caetano to help fulfill a fan's dream: to meet the athletes up close.

After a sleepless night due to anxiety, João Victor and his father, Marcus Lopes Carneiro, visited the George Helal Training Center and were able to closely observe the activities led by Cristóvão Borges, on the morning of this Thursday (25.06). Photos, hugs and many memories of an unforgettable day. However, they know that none of this would have happened without Galinho's help.

"Zico was amazing with us the whole time. When we arrived at CFZ, I asked to take a picture with him as I was getting out of the car. Even though I was already late, he said, 'Sure! Come by my office.' I said I didn't want to disturb him, but he asked us to go anyway. He asked about João Victor's story, we talked, and he said he would help us meet the players. He called Rodrigo Caetano and we came. I fulfilled his wish," celebrated the father.

Taking the field with the players was also a possibility, but after careful consideration, Marcus stated that it wasn't the right time yet. With so many ideas in mind, another one could be solidified today, and it certainly was worth many. "Sheik" is the word João Victor said without hesitation when asked who he would most like to meet. A meeting was recorded and a jersey was promised. After the match against Figueirense at Maracanã Stadium, the Sacred Mantle that will be worn by Emerson already has a fixed address for someone who considers Flamengo one of the reasons for living. "This is his life: Flamengo, Flamengo, Flamengo," summarizes his father.
