Joel leads the collective in Gávea
In the activity, the coach selected Thiago Salles and Obina in the starting team.
By Flamengo Archive - inBefore heading to Belo Horizonte, where he will face Cruzeiro at Mineirão on Sunday (04/11), coach Joel Santana led another activity at Gávea, which was attended by hundreds of fans.
During training, Joel put Thiago Sales and Obina in the starting lineup, replacing Ronaldo Angelim and Souza, who will not face Cruzeiro. The rest of the team is the same one that played against Corinthians in the last game of the Championship. The team that started the activity was: Bruno, Léo Moura, Fábio Luciano, Thiago Sales and Juan; Jaílton, Cristian, Ibson and Toró; Maxi and Obina.
First, Joel conducted a quick tactical training session, organizing the team's defense. Then, the coach led a competitive training session, aiming for the difficult match against Cruzeiro. For the coach, the game in Minas Gerais will be very difficult.
- "Cruzeiro is one of the best teams in the Championship. They're going through a difficult time, so the game will be very difficult. The important thing is to play without fear, but with emotional balance, to achieve victory."
For the coach, it is an important game for the red-blacks' ambitions in the Championship, as Cruzeiro is a direct rival in the fight for a place in the 2008 Libertadores.
- "It's an opportunity to earn three more points and prevent a direct rival from scoring. The important thing is to get nine points out of the 12 we'll be playing for. With three wins in the next four games, we'll qualify for the Copa Libertadores."
