Flamengo's newest addition for the 2008 season, forward Diego Tardelli, has received praise from new manager Joel Santana. According to Flamengo's coach, Diego is incredibly talented.

"He's a very talented and competent player. A striker who plays close to the center forward, also making plays on the wings. He also knows how to score goals. Welcome to his new home," declared the excited coach.

With the signing of Diego Tardelli, Flamengo likely has its roster finalized for the Campeonato Carioca and Copa Libertadores. Joel praised the squad's quality and noted that no one is guaranteed a starting spot.

"Diego Tardelli was another good signing for Flamengo. We have a very strong squad for the season. Here at Flamengo, there are no starters or reserves; those who are in the best condition will play."
