Joel closes another cycle with a positive balance
The coach led the red-black team in 54 matches, achieving 35 victories.

"Daddy Joel", as he is affectionately called by the players, took over Flamengo in August 2007, when the team was in the relegation zone of the Brazilian Championship, and with a sensational campaign, he won third place and a place in the Copa Libertadores.
In 2008, he led Flamengo to its second state championship. With the title, the red-and-black team reached the 30th state championship, equaling rival Fluminense.
