Joel doesn't want a celebration
For the coach, the situation is still not comfortable.
By Flamengo Archive - inThe day after the 3-1 victory over Cruzeiro in Gávea was full of smiles and joy for the players, but not for the red-and-black manager Joel Santana.
The coach made it very clear that he does not want celebrations from the players, as the team's position in the table is still not the most comfortable.
"We can't celebrate. Flamengo's position in the Brazilian league is reasonable, but far from comfortable. We have to work hard, because there's no point in celebrating today and then showing up here on Monday with another defeat."
Regarding the victory in yesterday's game (12/9), Joel praised the players for their determination and mentioned Toró for his dedication.
- "Toró did very well, he's playing with a lot of energy. He's starting to show why Flamengo signed him."
For the game against Vasco, on Sunday (15/9), for the Brazilian Championship, the coach did not want to comment on the absences of Ibson, Souza and, possibly, Roger and Maxi, but rather value the players who faced Cruzeiro.
- “It’s time to value the players who are playing and not comment on their absences.”
