Coach Joel Santana's concern, however, goes far beyond the difficulties the team will face against Atlético-MG, São Paulo, and Fluminense. For the Flamengo manager, the current situation requires Flamengo not to drop points as has happened in other matches in the competition. "The team has been playing well, but they let some precious points slip away. We missed a penalty against Botafogo and drew with Sport with a late goal. We'll practically decide our position in the Brazilian Championship in the next three games, and we can't afford to slip up any more. I have no doubt that this will be the most difficult and decisive week we'll have, against three top-tier opponents," Joel stated. The coach led a training session this afternoon, with Ibson in attendance, who played 20 minutes for the reserve team. Although he performed well and proved he's recovered from a right ankle injury, the midfielder will be ready to face São Paulo next Thursday. "It would be rash to start him on Saturday. Ibson is a fighter, he was always with the group even when he was injured, but we'll wait for Thursday's game (against São Paulo). With more training time, he'll certainly be in a better position to help us," commented the red-and-black coach.
