Joel only announces the team moments before the classic
By Flamengo Archive - inCoach Joel Santana said this Tuesday afternoon, in Gávea, after the recreational training session held in the rain and cold, that he has not yet defined the team that will start the classic this Wednesday, against Botafogo, at Maracanã.
The coach's doubts are regarding the use of Roger and Juan, who will be judged for their expulsion in the classic against Fluminense, Renato Augusto and Obina, still recovering their form and Maxi, who is recovering from an injury to his left thigh.
"I still don't know which team I'm going to field, but the important thing is that, regardless of the options I have, I already have an idea of how I'm going to set up the team. But until the game, I'm going to keep this suspense," said the coach, emphasizing that there's no reason to announce the lineup since Botafogo hasn't announced it either.
Regarding the opponent, Joel was full of praise: "I'm going to hope it doesn't rain because then it will be an even better game. Botafogo has one of the best teams in the league, they're playing great football again, and we'll have to perform even better than in our last victories to beat them. We have a great team too, and it will be a very balanced derby."
