Players approve trip to Volta Redonda
Flamengo players believe that staying longer in the Steel City could be good for the team.

At Flamengo, the main objective is to distance themselves even further from the relegation zone and, consequently, secure a spot in the 2011 Copa Sudamericana.
One of the coaching staff's strategies to further unite the team at this time was to bring forward the trip to Volta Redonda. The group was originally scheduled to travel to the Steel City only on Saturday afternoon (November 06.11th), but now they will go this Friday (November 05.11th) and train at Raulino de Oliveira both upon arrival and the following morning. The idea was approved by the players.
"Vanderlei has this work philosophy, and we know the moment we're going through. We have to get at least six points in the last five games, even more so playing at home. We have the ability to recover. This concentration is valid, we'll rest more and prepare better for the game, which is very important," said Renato.
The supporter also believes that fans from Volta Redonda will turn out in large numbers to support the Gávea team in the match against Atlético-PR, on Sunday (November 07.11th), at the Estádio da Cidadania.
"In Volta Redonda, our fans always show up in droves to support us. Flamengo has played there many times, and we will try to do what we have been doing best. We have been making progress," he added.
Flamengo and Atlético face off at 7:30 PM on Sunday. With 40 points, Flamengo occupies 13th place, five points ahead of the relegation zone and in the qualifying zone for the Copa Sudamericana. Atlético-PR has 50 points, in eighth place, tied on points with Santos (5th), Inter (6th), São Paulo (19th), and Grêmio (9th), and dreams of a spot in next year's Libertadores.
