After technical and tactical training on Wednesday morning (August 18.08) at Ninho do Urubu, Flamengo players continued their day's activities on Barra da Tijuca beach in the afternoon. Coach Toninho Oliveira led a training circuit for about an hour, and all players trained normally. Only the goalkeepers did not participate. Many Flamengo fans attended the training session and took the opportunity to take photos and get autographs with the players.

Among the athletes, two had special reasons to work hard on the sand: newly signed players Renato Abreu and Leandro Amaral. The duo had their first training session on the beach wearing Flamengo jerseys. Still needing to improve their physical condition, both have been training to be in shape soon.

"It's a type of activity that makes physical work much easier for us. For me, it's very important. I work hard on my endurance, I also gain strength for movements, and this only helps when it comes to improving my physical conditioning," said Leandro Amaral.

Renato was one of the most celebrated by the fans and, while drinking coconut water after the activity, he signed many autographs, took photos and also talked to the team from Flamengo's official website.

"I know how important this type of training is. I even ask to do it, of course as much as possible, to avoid injuries, but it's important to work well, work hard, to be in the best shape of my life as soon as possible to help Flamengo," added the number 11.

This Thursday (19.08), the team returns to training at Ninho do Urubu. Coach Rogério Lourenço should lead the first training session before Sunday's match (22.08) against Atlético Paranaense, at Arena da Baixada.
