Players get to know the stage for the match against "La U"

Flamengo inspects the pitch at the cramped Santa Laura stadium in very cold weather in Santiago

Much has been said about the Santa Laura stadium, the cauldron where Universidad de Chile will host the second leg of their Libertadores quarterfinal against Flamengo this Thursday. And on Wednesday night, the Flamengo players had the opportunity to do their final training session before the match right there. With Santiago's typical cold weather this time of year, the group had their first taste of the stadium and weren't particularly impressed.

Coach Rogério Lourenço acknowledged that the stadium is cramped and that the home crowd will be well placed to apply pressure and support the "La U" players, but assured that this will not hinder his team. Rogério also made a point of praising the Santa Laura pitch.

"The stadium is small, yes, but the grass is good, and the location will not have any influence on the way we play," he said.
