Players lament poor aim this Sunday

Rubro-Negros believe they could have decided the game in their favor against Atlético

Flamengo have only managed to score two goals in their last six games in the Brazilian Championship, a number that falls short of the club's own expectations. Right-back and team captain Leonardo Moura lamented his teammates' poor shooting performance, but expressed confidence that the team can improve ahead of Thursday's (August 26.08) match against Atlético Mineiro at the Maracanã.

The player believes that the fact that he didn't convert good chances into goals was a key factor in the team from Gávea leaving Arena da Baixada without a positive result.

"This was the main reason we left here with the defeat. The team played well, but conceded a goal from a set piece and ended up losing the game," he analyzed.

Despite regretting this Sunday's defeat (22.08), the full-back believes that the team has a chance of turning things around in the middle of the week.

"We can't give up. The team played well, worked hard, has a few days to train and now we have to prepare for Thursday's match," he added.
