Players lament goals conceded from aerial balls
Rubro-Negros believe they could have avoided Tricolor goals with a little more attention
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inOf Fluminense's three goals in Sunday's derby (September 19.09) at the Engenhão stadium, two came from aerial plays. This didn't please the red-and-black players at all, and they also lamented having conceded a draw when they were leading the match 3-2. Defender Ronaldo Angelim believes the team shouldn't have allowed this type of play to end in a goal for the tricolor.
\"On set pieces, they tried to score and ended up getting the better of those plays. We played well in the first half. We can't let plays like that happen, and they were lucky in the end," he warned.
\The defender also points out that Rubro-Negro ended up retreating a little in the second half, allowing Fluminense to pose a threat and seek an equalizer.
\"They came out in the second half trying to tie the game. They attacked, going all out. We had no patience and couldn't hold on to the lead. We ended up tying," he added.
\The draw left Flamengo in fifteenth place in the Brasileirão, with 27 points. In the next round, Wednesday (22.09), coach Silas' team will go to Porto Alegre to face Grêmio.
