Flamengo showed that it was not discouraged by last Wednesday's defeat and secured a good away win. Playing against Sport at Arena Pernambuco, the "Mais Querido" won 1-0, with Éverton scoring four minutes into the match. Flamengo ended a 30-game unbeaten streak against the Pernambuco team. Flamengo's first chance didn't take long to arrive. Just one minute in, Alan Patrick played Éverton into the box, but the number 22 was offside. If it didn't happen in the first minute, it didn't take long for him to get another chance either. In the fourth minute, Canteros beautifully turned the ball around for Pará, who controlled the ball, went to the byline, and crossed perfectly for Éverton to head in. Sport attempted a comeback, but Flamengo's defense left them no room. In the 14th minute, Wendel fired a powerful shot from distance, but Paulo Victor was alert and made a fine save. In the 22nd minute, Sport found themselves down ten men. Samuel Xavier made a hard tackle on Alan Patrick and received a red card. Showing excellent tactical prowess, Flamengo didn't give Sport any space and knew how to come out on top when they had the ball. In the second half, the game's landscape changed little. Flamengo capitalized on the field and gave the home team little space. Two minutes in, Éverton sent a low cross from the left. Kayke deflected the ball well and took it away from Danilo, but it ended up going wide of the goal. In the 13th minute, Oswaldo de Oliveira replaced the striker with Marcelo Cirino. Three minutes later, Canteros produced a beautiful play. The Argentine received the ball at the edge of the box and invaded, dribbling past more than three defenders with short touches. Emerson received the ball and shot, but the ball deflected out. Flamengo continued to press and create danger, but without giving any space in defense. In the 28th minute, Emerson crossed after a corner kick and César Martins appeared behind the opposing defense to head the ball, but the ball went too high. The number 11 was replaced four minutes later by Paulinho. Alan Patrick created a threat in the 34th minute. Éverton crossed with three fingers, Cirino chested it down, and the number 19 fired a powerful shot, but the ball grazed the post and went out. With a man up on the scoreboard and on the field, the Mais Querido exchanged passes and increasingly impeded the home team's chances. Before the end of the game, Alan Patrick delivered a beautiful pass to Paulinho, who came face to face with the goal and shot first time, but Danilo managed to save with his chest.
