Flamengo drew 1-1 with Internacional on Wednesday night (29), at 19:30 pm, at Beira-Rio, for the 21st round of the Brazilian Championship. The team from Rio Grande do Sul took the lead with Vitinho, but Samuel Lino equalized in the final stage. With the result, Flamengo reached 39 points in the national competition.

The game

In a match that marked Guillermo Varela's 150th game wearing the sacred jersey, Flamengo created the first opportunity after six minutes. Carrascal received a pass from Pedro, entered the area and shot low, forcing Matheus Cunha to make a great save with his feet.

Despite starting the match with less possession, Flamengo quickly balanced the game and began to control the match, creating dangerous opportunities in front of the opponent's goal.

Ten minutes in, Varela found Carrascal on the right. The Colombian crossed back, Samuel Lino appeared unmarked at the edge of the box, but slipped at the moment of the shot. Immediately afterwards, Arrascaeta pressed high up the pitch, dispossessed Alan Patrick and took a shot from outside the area. The shot went over the Colorado goal.

Still in the first half of the initial stage, Léo Pereira caused concern when he felt severe pain in his left knee and fell to the ground. The defender received treatment, returned to the game and, even with limitations, continued to contribute defensively with important interventions.

In the 26th minute, Internacional grew in confidence. After a great save by Rossi, the ball fell to Vitinho, who took advantage of the rebound to open the scoring at Beira-Rio: 1-0.

Flamengo responded quickly and threatened again with Arrascaeta, who attempted to equalize with a shot from medium range.

After the break, Flamengo returned with two substitutions and increased their intensity in search of an equalizer. Playing on the right side of the attack, Samuel Lino became one of the most involved players, creating difficulties for the opposing defense with his runs and crosses.

At the 25-minute mark, the number 16 received a pass from Emerson Royal at the edge of the box and shot powerfully, but over the goal defended by Matheus Cunha.

Flamengo's persistence paid off in the 34th minute. After pressing high up the pitch, Arrascaeta found Pedro, whose shot was well saved by Matheus Cunha. On the rebound, the Uruguayan passed to Bruno Henrique, who was brought down just as he was about to shoot. The ball fell to Samuel Lino inside the area, who, with no goalkeeper in front of him and the goal closed off by defenders, struck firmly to find the back of the net and secure the draw: 1-1.

The goal was Samuel Lino's 13th in 70 matches for Flamengo and his ninth of the season, a mark that places him as the team's second-highest scorer in 2026. Furthermore, Flamengo also reached 37 goals and became the best attack in the Brazilian Championship so far.

In the final minutes, Flamengo maintained the pressure in search of a comeback, but the score remained unchanged until the final whistle.
