Game against Vassouras continues this Thursday
The match was stopped with two minutes remaining on Wednesday night due to a disturbance in the stands.
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inIt didn't take 24 hours for the Rio de Janeiro Futsal Federation to decide whether to suspend the match between Flamengo and Vassouras, played last night (Wednesday) at the Hélio Maurício Gymnasium. The match was halted with two minutes remaining, after Vassouras tied the score at 4-4, and the visiting team's fans and players began to heckle the home team. The Flamengo fans were displeased, and a scuffle broke out in the stands, prompting the referee to suspend the match until further notice.
\The expectation was that, with only two minutes remaining, the game would be considered over. However, the decision was different: the match will continue where it left off, today at 20:30 pm, at the same venue, but behind closed doors. The circumstances of the draw ended up being unfavorable for the team from Gávea, which had opened up a 4-2 lead. Therefore, the players are determined to seek victory in this continuation of the match.
\"Although they were in better form yesterday, this break gives the team time to correct their mistakes and change their game strategy. It's going to be a completely different match, and this victory is crucial for our qualification. That's why we're going to go for that little goal," said center Diego Carvalho.
\Even if they fail to overcome Vassouras, a draw would already leave Flamengo in third place in the State Futsal Championship standings, with 17 points, tied with América. Vassouras would have 15 points, with Petrópolis and Cabo Frio leading the way. Besides this final match against Vassouras, Flamengo still faces Comary, Petrópolis, and Cabo Frio in the final stretch of the competition.
