At just 18 years old, young Jorbison is a promising player in Flamengo's youth ranks and could be on the field on Sunday (19.09), against Fluminense, at the Los Larios stadium, in Xerém, in the red-black debut in the Brazilian Under-23 Championship. The left-back is still recovering from a thigh injury, but hopes to recover in time to play in the classic.

"I took a hit and couldn't even bend my thigh, but I'm getting better, moving a little better. I don't know yet if I'll be on the field, but anything can happen and I hope I can play," he said.

The Bahia native from Camacan has played three professional games for Flamengo, making his debut against São Paulo in July of last year. With the U-23s, he hopes to continue developing and earn a spot on the first team.

"This championship came at just the right time. It's important for us. It's going to be a tough competition, but we'll be able to showcase our football, and every opportunity we get at Flamengo has to be taken advantage of," said the player, who hopes to repay the fans' trust on the field.

"I see this expectation from the fans as motivation. I'll train harder and harder and continue to find my place. This only makes me want to give back with a lot of determination and help to Flamengo, honoring this jersey on the field," he concluded.
