Flamengo presented another reinforcement to the Nation. On Monday afternoon (4), at Ninho do Urubu, Colombian Jorge Carrascal gave his first press conference as a Flamengo player and, among other topics, highlighted his anxiety in wearing the Sacred Mantle after a long negotiation with Dynamo Moscow, from Russia. Negotiation

"It was an emotional moment, but also very stressful because of the difficulty of my arrival. I was with the national team and they gave me the news. I said yes without thinking, saying I was available to come to Flamengo, and it was something that made me thrilled. It took a while, but I always thought positively and clung to God for peace of mind. This is a huge opportunity. Thank God, everything worked out, and here we are." 

Arrascaeta's replacement

"Arrascaeta has a different style of play. He's a great player too. We've known who he is and what his abilities are for many years. I'm here to contribute my bit of sand, my support. All my teammates are playing, and we'll be fine with my creative style of play. More than that, we want everyone to be able to play, to do what the coach asks and what the game demands." 

Choose Flamengo

"Flamengo is a big team, which means a lot in South America. It didn't take me two seconds to make the decision to come. It was a dream for me to be able to play in the Brazilian league, because of my style of play. I believe I made the best decision." 

Debut

"I've been here in Rio for almost a week now. I feel a different connection with my teammates, the coaching staff, and everyone at the club. I'm very happy and want to show that I came to support the team, that I'm here, and that they can count on me." 

Field position

"Since I arrived, I've been able to talk with Filipe. He more or less guided me on what he wanted when he presented me with the plan for how they play, attack, and press. He showed me what he wanted from me in a certain position. I have the advantage of having played in different positions for several teams. He showed me where to play so that it would be easier to play on the field."
