Jorge: "We are ready for a good debut"
Left-back spoke about his expectations for the start of the Brasileirão this morning, at CT

After training on Wednesday (11), Jorge gave a press conference in the press room at the George Helal Training Center. The player commented on the changes in his playing style and the lessons he has learned since his debut for the main team last year. The athlete also spoke about the demands he receives from fans, journalists and even his father, Marco.

Expectations for the Brasileirão
It's a very tough competition, and we're well prepared to make a strong debut. It's crucial to start the championship well, as it could be crucial later on. I joined the team midway through last season and saw how much the points dropped early in the competition were missed. Muricy, an experienced coach who has won the Brazilian Championship several times, always passes this on to us. Our goal is to be among the top four.
Critics
Since I'm still starting my career, I don't think it would be good to receive only praise. Criticism is good for me. I enjoy productive pressure, from fans, journalists, and even my father. Today, I'm an important player for Flamengo because of this. I always try to take this criticism, learn from it, and apply it to the field.
The demands from the father, Mr. Marco
His criticism is the harshest of all. Ever since I started playing futsal, he's said he'd never fully praise me. I know it's for my own good; it's good for me. I thank God for having him as a father because, if it weren't for him, I wouldn't be where I am today. I'm very grateful to him for that.
The fans' feelings about the team's current form
I'm not happy either. Losing is really bad. I feel it as much as they do. I was in the stands watching the games not long ago. No player who wants to win in life likes to lose. What I can say to the Red-Black Nation is that we're going to give them the happiness they deserve.
Self-assessment
I don't think my performance has dropped; I'm just not the Jorge who constantly supports the attack anymore. What I can say is that I've improved a lot in marking. Muricy demands a lot of defensive work from me. On the field, Juan also communicates a lot with me about the right time to attack and when to protect the defense.
