Josiel says: “It’s a good time to debut”
The top scorer in the last Brasileirão is confident of a good performance in his debut match.
By Flamengo Archive - inForward Josiel has been confirmed by coach Caio Júnior as the starting attacker for Sunday's match against São Paulo at Morumbi Stadium. After being registered with the CBF last night, the current top scorer in the Brazilian Championship hopes to make a strong debut for the red-and-black team from Gávea.
"It's a good time to debut. I can't choose my opponent. Today, I'm in a different situation than when I was top scorer. I arrived midway through the championship, and my chances of being top scorer are slimmer, but I know I'll have everyone's help to perform at my best."
New number 9, Josiel knows the responsibility he carries, as he was the top scorer in the 2007 Brazilian Championship with 20 goals.
"I know the responsibility and pressure I have to score goals. But I'm calm. I'll play naturally and certainly live up to expectations."
