One of Flamengo's main players in this Brazilian Championship, full-back Juan believes in a great performance from the red-black team this Thursday (4/10), against São Paulo, leader of the competition.

"I believe in the strength of our team at Maracanã. We're not afraid of São Paulo. Our home team is very strong, and I believe in a good result, and a Flamengo victory is never a surprise," declared the confident full-back.

Juan knows that São Paulo is a very difficult team to beat, but the player believes in the team and its style of play.

"We have to play on the wings, as we have been doing. We need to turn the ball over a lot to move the game along. At home, we have to play to win, but we have to be very careful with our opponents."

With the tournament's tightest defense, conceding just nine goals, São Paulo's defense is one of its strengths. Juan believes Flamengo's players will have to shoot exceptionally well to overcome Rogério Ceni's goal.

"São Paulo has a great defense. Besides good defenders, they have Rogério Ceni as their goalkeeper. So, there's no point in making great plays and not scoring goals. We have to excel in our finishing."
