For the left-back, the match cannot be seen as a rematch of the Guanabara Cup semi-final.

After this afternoon's training session in Gávea, left-back Juan assured that Saturday's match against Resende at Engenhão Stadium isn't being viewed by the Flamengo squad as a rematch of the Guanabara Cup semifinal. According to the player, Flamengo will enter the field thinking only of winning.

"We can't get carried away with revenge or violence. That's how football is; one day we win, the next we lose. We have to go out there thinking about playing football and winning. We have the quality to put in a great performance and make up for that defeat. We can't afford to slip up in this final stretch, because the group is fiercely competitive. There are three teams with ten points, and everything is very even. We can't afford to let our guard down, because Flamengo can't miss this semifinal."

The player said he is increasingly confident after the serious injury he suffered.

"I know I was playing below my technical and tactical level, but I think I'm gradually improving. I'm getting lighter, more relaxed, and participating more in matches. I had a fall, which is normal when you have a serious injury like mine. I was a little apprehensive at first, but the doctors and teammates gave me confidence, and I think I'm improving every day."
