Juan celebrates the return of the duo with Leo Moura
The full-back hopes to live up to the praise on the pitch from those who consider him the best in the country in his position.
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inIt's common to hear from many fans that Flamengo has the best full-back duo in Brazil. Last Sunday, in the derby against Botafogo, they were unable to play. Juan was suspended and Leonardo Moura was injured. But for this Wednesday (March 24.03), both are confirmed and will face Tigres do Brasil at 19:30 pm at Engenhão.
Two of Flamengo's main attacking weapons since they began playing together in 2006, these players are a fundamental part of coach Andrade's tactical scheme. The coach is pleased with the return of his full-backs and is betting on their individual quality.
"I believe in their quality and, tomorrow, we will have a more balanced and attacking team with the return of the starting full-backs," he analyzed.
Juan, who trained normally last week, is also happy to be back. The number 6 said he's hungry and doesn't like being sidelined for even a single game. Once back, he hopes to prove on the field that this duo can still be called "Brazil's best."
"I dedicated myself a lot in training and I'm happy to be back with the team. Unfortunately, I was suspended against Botafogo, but I'll give my all in this game against Tigres, as will Leo. We've played together for a long time and we have to prove on the field that we deserve this recognition," he explained.
Leonardo Moura and Juan have the numbers to prove their importance. Juan has played 212 matches, scored 30 goals, and provided 56 assists. Leo has played 262 matches, found the net 36 times, and provided 46 decisive passes.
