After a few days off, Flamengo's squad returned to training last Tuesday (June 15.06) to begin their preseason training during the World Cup. The break was good for the players, but some were already missing the training routine. This is the case with left-back Juan. Since 2006 at Gávea, he has been one of the club's most identified players and is already accustomed to the day-to-day life there.
Also known for always being one of the last to leave the field on training days, along with defender Ronaldo Angelim, Juan doesn't hide the fact that he was already missing training.
"It's always good to get back to work. Of course, the days we had were good for resting and recharging our batteries, but we miss the training routine. It's good to be back, see our teammates again, and start training so we can return to the Brazilian Championship in good shape," he said.
The player believes these days of preparation will be crucial in the future. He dreams of returning to official matches, against Botafogo on the 14th, with a strong performance and a victory.
"We're thinking about coming back with a win. Our goal is to put Flamengo back in the top four. We know we'll face Botafogo in a tough game, and we're already thinking about putting together a good run of points to get our momentum going and get back to the top. The Championship is very competitive, and we have a chance to fight for a spot in next year's Copa Libertadores. Who knows, maybe even a second title," he added.
