After Friday's (9) activities, experienced defender Juan spoke to the press. In the interview, he spoke about the squad's current form and analyzed individual situations. For the number four, no responsibility, positive or negative, should be individualized: "At no time do we put defeats or victories at the expense of A, B or C."

Of the six games, we've played four away games and one derby. It's a tough schedule. We dropped points at Arena da Baixada, a historically difficult venue, as well as at Ilha do Retiro, where we lost. But we have to react. The teams at the top are pulling away, and our goal is to get ahead.

At no point do we attribute defeats or victories to the cost of A, B, or C. We're a group. We talk about the events of the games. Some events are negative and have significant repercussions, especially among goalkeepers and defenders. Things change very quickly, and it feels like a wave that escalates and never ends. We're professionals; we can't think like that. We have to be at our best every day, always working to improve.

We're talking about a player who was on the Brazilian national team three or four months ago. He hasn't forgotten his skills. These things happen to any player, and he's already saved Flamengo in many games last year and this year. Against Atlético-PR, for example, he made some great one-on-one saves that helped us. These are moments and circumstances that happen negatively. But we think about the collective. Regardless of who plays today, tomorrow, or in the future, our respect is always the same, and, as I said, he's a goalkeeper for the Brazilian national team, we can't forget that. 

We have an important match on Sunday. For everyone, Flamengo in general, all the players, the coaching staff. 

Something similar happens to Zé as happens to Muralha. A coach who led the team to third place and an undefeated Rio de Janeiro champion, we faced decision after decision in a turbulent month, all unscathed until we conceded a costly goal. And his work, which brought Flamengo to the level it is today, raised the level of several players. Of course, on a team that has had a less-than-expected start to the championship, it's normal for pressure to arise—but his is shared by the entire group. Here, we focus solely on the collective.

It's club practice, when someone arrives, to undergo several evaluations until they're ready to go on the field. He's in that period. Our contact was brief; when he arrived, the team was traveling, and now we have another away game on Sunday. We'll probably have more contact next week. He'll be with us as soon as possible.

We talked about the protest. No one was attacked, there was even some disturbance when cars entered, but the fans have the right to criticize; they love the club too; it's a club loved by everyone. It's their right. As long as it doesn't go too far.

That's my thought. In every club, the first thing that comes to mind is this: grit, giving your all, giving your life. But we're professionals, and we know that football isn't just about that. Maybe if it were, every match would end in a draw. The transition from a bad phase to a good one would be easier. We know that in the last period we've been playing, we've had some problems, but it's not due to a lack of determination.

Expectations are high, given the squad and structure it has. Considering what the club means to Brazil in terms of management, I think a lot is expected, especially because we've already shown so much. We showed this year what we're capable of playing, and I think that's part of it. Unfortunately, the losses we suffered were costly; we had three very costly defeats. There's a bit of the frustration of elimination, as we also have, from the Libertadores, of watching and not being there. For the squad, we have to understand that it's in the past, and on Sunday we'll continue our goal, which is to always finish at the top of the table.

We have to find a balance between defense and attack, defending and taking advantage of our chances up front. We're going through a period that isn't our best this year; some areas will suffer more than others. We have to grow as a team, regain our balance, and thus climb the table.
