Flamengo's youth team was unable to repeat the performance of the last match, when they beat América 5-1, and drew with Boavista 1-1 this Monday (04/01), in Gávea.

Heavy rain in the city left the field in poor condition. The match started off difficult for the red-and-blacks, as Boavista opened the scoring in the second minute.

Flamengo then pushed forward and equalized with a beautiful goal from right-back Davidson. The team from Gávea pressed until the end, but was unable to break the deadlock.

With the draw, Flamengo reached 9 points and sits in third place in Group A of the Campeonato Carioca, with a game in hand. The youngsters return to the field next Thursday to face Volta Redonda, in another tough match in their quest for their fourth title.
