Flamengo Juniors draw 1-1 with Macaé
Paulo Sérgio scored the red-black goal.
By Flamengo Archive - inFlamengo's youth team returned to the field on Wednesday afternoon (January 30th) to face Macaé at the Claudio Moacyr de Azevedo Stadium. The game, which was valid for the fourth round of the Campeonato Carioca, ended in a 01-1 draw. Paulo Sérgio scored the only goal for the red-black team.
Under heavy rain, Flamengo dominated the match and threatened to attack. Flamengo's first casualty came in the first half, with number 10 Vander being sent off.
Even with one less player, the red-black team opened the scoring, with Paulo Sérgio taking a beautiful free kick.
Flamengo went to the locker room with a partial 1-0 victory.
In the second half, Flamengo didn't come back with the same momentum, giving Macaé more space. The punishment wasn't long in coming, and the team from the northern region of Rio de Janeiro tied the match.
Flamengo also lost another player, with Paulo Sérgio receiving a red card. Down two players, the red-and-black team held on to take another point back to Gávea.
Coach Adílio lined up his team in the traditional 4-4-2 formation, with Marcelo, Davidson, Fabricio (Rafael), Wellinton and Léo; Antonio, Rafael Mazei, Erick Flores and Vander; Paulo Sérgio and Rodrigo Andrade (Diego Oliveira).
