Flamengo's juniors debut in the Club World Cup this Wednesday

With the base of the team that won the Copa BH, Flamengo will debut this Wednesday, at 7:45 am (Brasília time), in the Junior Club World Cup, in Malaysia. The opponent will be Milan and the match will be played in the city of Alor Star.

Besides the Italian club, the team's other biggest challenge will be fatigue. The delegation underwent a veritable air marathon to reach the Asian country: they boarded a flight from Rio de Janeiro last Wednesday (August 1st) at 13:10 p.m., stopped in Buenos Aires, Cape Town, and Johannesburg (both in South Africa) before arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 5:40 a.m. local time. The time difference with Brasília is 11 hours ahead.

Even though they were tired, the team went to the field to train on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, with the aim of beginning to adapt to the time difference. Also on Saturday, they participated in the opening ceremony of the games and then traveled for seven hours by bus to reach the city of Alor Star, where they will play the first two matches in the competition.

In Alor Star, the team trained on Monday and Tuesday mornings and, in the afternoon, accompanied by the Arsenal (ING) team, held a football clinic for around 200 children at a local school.

The competition is contested by 16 teams. In addition to some of the big European clubs, Boca Juniors and two Asian teams also participate. In Flamengo's group, besides Milan (ITA), there are Ajax (HOL) and Arsenal (ENG).
