By Flamengo Archive - inWith the excitement of the opening match over, Flamengo entered the field determined to win, and not even Arsenal's goal, after a corner kick from a rebound in the box in the 16th minute of the first half, shook the red-and-black team's confidence. This had been England's first attack and it soon ended in a goal, but two minutes later, Kayke passed the ball to Pedro Beda, who passed it back to Kayke, who entered the box and tapped it past the goalkeeper. It was Flamengo's equalizer. The goal didn't diminish the attacking momentum of coach Adilio's team, who simply crushed the opposing team, cornering them in their own half. In the second half, just four minutes in, Vander was released inside the box and was brought down from behind. Kayke took a powerful, low penalty into the left corner, the goalkeeper managed to touch the ball but couldn't prevent his and Flamengo's second goal. Playing at lightning speed, with precise touches and quick movements, Flamengo continued to pressure Arsenal, who were unable to trouble the solid red-and-black defense. In the final five minutes, Flamengo kept the ball around, and the English side simply watched, resigned to the result. At the press conference, the only comment was: It was the best game of the World Cup so far! Highlights of today's match: The team's collective consciousness, achieved by coach Adilio; The excellent physical preparation achieved by Professor Alexandre Haicki and nominally one athlete from each sector of the team represents today's beautiful work: Anderson Bamba in defense, Vander in midfield and Kayke in attack. With this result, Flamengo is in the lead of the Competition with 2 points along with Milan, who beat Ajax of the Netherlands in the preliminary round by 4-5, but has one goal scored less than the red-black carioca. On Sunday, they play in Alor Star Milan vs. Arsenal and in Kuala Lumpur Fla vs. Ajax. The two best teams from each group qualify for the quarterfinals. Ajax and Arsenal have 4 point each. Flamengo: Marcelo Valverde, Davidson, Anderson Bamba, Welinton and Leonardo, Diego Moura, Vinicius Colombiano, Erick Flores and Vander (Renan), Pedro Beda (Diego Oliveira) and Kayke (Antonio)
