Juniors debut with victory in the Campeonato Carioca

Playing at Moça Bonita Stadium, the team led by Armênio Moura overcame Bangu, winning 3-1 with goals from Rafael Mazzei, Vinicius Paquetá, and Bruno Paulo. The match was part of the second round of the competition, as the first round was rescheduled for March 01st against Friburguense at Maracanã.
Flamengo's juniors return to the field next Sunday to face Volta Redonda at 14:45 p.m. at Raulino de Oliveira Stadium. The match is part of the third round of the Campeonato Carioca. The tournament is played on a home-and-away basis, with all teams playing each other. The champions of each round face off in two matches to determine the 2009 Rio de Janeiro champion.
Flamengo's youth team also made a strong debut, winning its first U-17 Rio Cup. The team from Gávea defeated Nacional-AM this afternoon, 4-2, and took the lead in Group A of the competition, which is being held in Três Rios. All group matches will be held at the Entrerriense Stadium. In addition to Nacional-AM, Flamengo faces Paraíba do Sul-RJ and Três Rios-RJ in the first round.
