Juniors regret home draw, but don't get discouraged

The kids remain confident for Sunday's classic against Fluminense, at Maracanã

A draw at home against a team considered small is never a good result. Flamengo's youth team players know this, and therefore aren't satisfied with the 1-1 draw against Americano last Wednesday afternoon in Gávea. Even more so knowing that the team had an extra player throughout the second half and failed to convert its numerical advantage into a difference on the scoreboard.

Left-back Anderson believes there's no way to explain what happened. According to him, the team dominated the game but didn't know how to finish well. Perhaps anxiety got in the way of the young Flamengo players. Despite this, however, their minds aren't down. Quite the opposite. The youngsters remain at the top of the Campeonato Carioca standings and don't even want to think about feeling down on the eve of next Sunday's Fla-Flu match.

"I don't even know how to explain what happened. It was a bad result for us and we know that. But we won't be discouraged. On Sunday we have a very important derby against Fluminense and the team has to be well prepared for that," said the player.
