Kleber Leite confirms Emerson and announces Alex Cruz
Recommended by coach Cuca, the former Ivinhema player will sign a three-month contract with the red-black team.
By Flamengo Archive - inAfter this afternoon's tactical training session in Gávea, Vice President of Football Kleber Leite confirmed the signing of 30-year-old striker Emerson, who previously excelled in Japanese football and was in Qatar. The player signed a one-year contract with the red-and-black club and is already registered in the Rio de Janeiro Football Federation's Athlete Registration Bulletin (Bira). Emerson is now legally registered and can play in the Campeonato Carioca.
Another piece of news announced by Kleber Leite was the signing of attacking midfielder Alex Cruz from Ivinhema (MS). The 22-year-old signed a three-month contract with Flamengo. According to Kleber, the player's salary will be paid by two club members.
Cuca celebrated the arrival of Flamengo's new reinforcements.
"They're two great players. They're here to add value. Flamengo didn't spend anything on Emerson, but he came because he's a fan of the club and always wanted to play here. He's a fast player who's always been a top scorer wherever he's played. I've received excellent information about him, including his conduct on and off the field. Alex, on the other hand, is a player I've watched in four or five games. He's young and has a lot of potential. He can play as a second striker or as a midfielder."
Kleber Leite also announced that Flamengo paid the January salaries of players and employees, the 13th salary of employees and two months of the basketball team and rowing athletes.
