Flamengo's vice president of football, Kleber Leite, assured that the red-and-black team is still in the hunt for its sixth championship title, even after Saturday's 3-0 loss to Atlético-MG at Maracanã. The director explained the reasons for the meeting between the players, the board, and the coaching staff this morning in Gávea.

"A very strange thing happened on Sunday. Some friends of mine called me to offer their condolences, as if Flamengo were dead. That doesn't exist here. Flamengo is alive, and that's why we hold these meetings. It was the worst Flamengo game I've seen since 2005. Worse than the América-MEX match, which was an atypical match. Flamengo's performance was truly ridiculous. We held a meeting with the players and then spoke at length with our coach. We identified some issues and will resolve them. The problems have been completely overcome, and I strongly believe in a comeback in the next match."

For Kleber Leite, the red-black needs to seek rehabilitation in the next match, Saturday, against Vasco, at Maracanã.

"It's time to bounce back. They're our archrivals, and a win would restore our confidence. It will be a very difficult match. Vasco deserves our respect for their storied history in football. They're definitely a club that doesn't deserve to be in this position. We have to be very careful, because they have good players."
