Midfielder Kleberson has been called up to the Brazilian national team by coach Dunga. He will compete in the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup and the Confederations Cup. Flamengo's number 15 replaces Manchester United's Anderson, who is injured. Kleberson, the 2002 World Cup champion, returns to the national team after nearly five years. The midfielder's last match for the national team was in 2004, when they won the Copa América.

The national team faces Uruguay (June 6th in Montevideo) and Paraguay (June 10th in Recife) in the qualifiers. After the second match, they travel to South Africa, where they will compete in the Confederations Cup starting on the 14th. Brazil is in Group B, alongside Italy, Egypt, and the United States.
