After a long conversation with the coaching staff in the locker room, the Flamengo team entered the Gávea field 40 minutes after the scheduled time, this Friday (09.07), to hold their first training session in Rio de Janeiro, after the return of the preseason, in Itu. Already thinking about next Wednesday's match (14.07), against Botafogo, coach Rogério Lourenço gave the first clues about the team he should select.
The main changes were Diego Maurício remaining in the starting lineup, after his good performance against Ituano last Wednesday (07.07) and the entry of Kleberson, who returned from the World Cup, this Thursday (08.07), in place of Camacho. Antônio, with thigh pain, underwent treatment and his role was taken by Willians. Correa, despite not yet having his situation defined as to whether or not he will play against Botafogo, also played in the main team.
Therefore, the starting lineup trained with Marcelo Lomba, Leonardo Moura, David, Ronaldo Angelim, and Juan; Willians, Correa, Kleberson, and Petkovic; Vinícius Pacheco, and Diego Maurício. The reserves were Paulo Victor, Jean, Fabrício, and Rodrigo Alvim; Rômulo, Fernando, Camacho, and Léo Medeiros; Paulo Sérgio and Val Baiano. The training ended with a 2-1 victory for the starters, with goals from Willians and Vinícius Pacheco. Val Baiano scored a goal.
Michael did separate physical training on one side of the field, continuing his treatment for a thigh injury. Galhardo, Saba, Lenon, and Jorbison also trained separately, but on the other side. Chileans Maldonado and Fierro did gym exercises, and the attacking midfielder also ran laps around the pitch.
It's worth noting that this Saturday at 15 p.m., Flamengo plays its third training match of the season. After drawing with Desportivo Brasil and Ituano at the Spa Sports Resort in Itu, the team faces Olaria in Gávea.
