Midfielder Kleberson is a voice of experience within the Flamengo squad. Respected by all his teammates, especially the younger ones who see the "Penta" (referring to Flamengo's fifth World Cup title) as an example of footballing achievements, the playmaker is returning to training with the group after missing Flamengo's last two matches in the Brazilian Championship. Motivated, he hopes to help get Flamengo out of this uncomfortable situation in the competition.
The midfielder is still unsure whether he will start or be used by Vanderlei Luxemburgo in the match against Atlético Mineiro, but he is making himself available to the coach to help in any way possible. Having the coach's confidence, he says he is ready to return.
"The motivation is always very high, simply because I'm playing for a club like Flamengo. I'm available to help in this final stretch and I'm counting on Vanderlei's confidence," he said.
For Kleberson, the moment calls for tranquility. One of the longest-serving players in the current squad, he admits he didn't expect this performance from the team in the Brazilian Championship, but says that the team needs to finish the season well, as well as possible, to dream of new titles in 2011.
"We didn't expect to be in this situation, especially considering the good campaigns of recent years, including winning the title last year. Of course, the help of the more experienced players is important at this moment. We try to guide the younger players, to give them peace of mind," he added.
