One of Flamengo's main bets for the second half of the year, striker Leandro Amaral is confident after his debut in the red-and-black jersey. After playing last Saturday's match (August 14.08) against Ceará, the striker believes his game will improve with each training session and predicts a quick return to the form he showed before the injury.
"Recently, my best moment was at Vasco, and I think I have the ability to repeat that. My physical condition is very good, I was fine... Of course, my leg weighs more, but I believe I can evolve with daily work to perform better and better," said the number 33.
The center forward revealed that he missed the routine of being a professional player: the training sessions, the matches, the affection of the fans, and even the concentration. Now, all that's left is to keep working hard and get back to scoring goals.
"I missed everything. It was a great joy to play again and feel the affection of the fans. But I didn't stop to think. I was just dying to have a ball left to keep. Everything is different for me. I've lost count of how many training camps I've been to, but now it's all new, it's good, it's cool. Even the training camp is great. I can't wait to score my first goal," said the striker, who intends to put in strong performances to repay the faith Flamengo has shown in his recovery.
"With a lot of sacrifice and struggle, I managed to overcome the difficult moments. Criticism and pressure happen, but when I play a great game, the reward will be the greatness of Flamengo," he concluded.
