Striker Leandro Amaral and midfielder Renato, Flamengo's new signings this week, aren't expected to make their debuts for the Red-Blacks until two weeks later. Both are expected to play only against Atlético-PR on August 22nd. Both Leandro and Renato have been training regularly with their teammates and are also doing special physical activities.
This Saturday (07.08), while the group trains in the morning and travels to São Paulo in the afternoon, the players must work full time in Gávea. On Monday (09.08), the squad has a day off after the match against Corinthians, but Leandro and Renato train normally.
"The plan is to use them against Atlético Paranaense. Leandro is in good physical shape, Renato is perhaps a little out of shape, but we're working on both of them for the match in Paraná," explained coach Rogério Lourenço.
The red-black commander, however, says that he will wait for the players' development during the next training sessions and reveals that Leandro Amaral may have his debut brought forward to Saturday (14.08), when the team from Gávea faces Ceará, at Maracanã.
"We'll wait and see how these players develop. It's almost two weeks until the game against Atlético, but they might be ready a little sooner. Leandro might be able to play against Ceará. But it's still too early. Let's wait and see," he added.
