One year and 27 days after his last official match, still wearing the Fluminense jersey, Leandro Amaral returned to Maracanã to make his debut for Flamengo. Fully recovered from a knee injury, the forward wore the Flamengo's number 33 jersey, received a standing ovation from the fans, and, despite not yet in peak condition, he moved around a lot and left the field feeling happy.

In an exclusive interview with Flamengo's official website after the match, Leandro didn't hide his excitement at returning and celebrated the fact that he had relieved some of his longing for the games, the pressure from the fans and the joy of a victory.

"It was a good debut, I was able to catch up and the important thing is that I was able to come away with the victory. Unfortunately, I didn't score a goal, but I was very happy," he said.

The striker believes that with his playing pace, he can only improve. According to him, his future with Flamengo could still be very positive.

"The trend is to improve. Now it's time to go back to working hard during the week, to gain more strength, more confidence and be able to help Flamengo," he added.
