The biography "My Cloak, First and Only," written by journalists Marcos Vinicius Cabral and Sergio Pugliese, and published by Rebento Editora, comprises 14 chapters and was compiled from 135 interviews. With a foreword by Zico, the book revisits Leandro's career, from his time in Flamengo's youth academy to his consecration as one of the greatest right-backs in the history of Brazilian football and a member of one of the club's most successful generations.

A product of the youth academy, Leandro exclusively defended Flamengo throughout his professional career, between 1978 and 1990. The full-back, who played in the 1982 World Cup, is, alongside Carlinhos "Violino", one of only two players to wear the sacred jersey solely throughout his entire career. During this period, he won historic titles, such as the Libertadores and the Club World Cup in 1981, four Brazilian Championships, and several Rio de Janeiro State Championships.

Reserved off the field, Leandro explained why he decided to record his story in a biography:

"I've always been a reserved person and, at first, I wasn't very keen on having a book. But I ended up giving in because of the affection of my friends, family, and fans. Flamengo is the team of my heart, which I learned to love from a young age and had the privilege of playing for. It's been more than 30 years since I stopped playing, but people don't forget. I'm very happy to leave this legacy in writing so that the younger generation, who only know me through stories from their parents and grandparents, can learn my story in more detail."

The book also includes behind-the-scenes stories and previously unpublished testimonials from teammates, family members, journalists, and other figures who followed Leandro's career, both on and off the field. It also features photos from personal archives and iconic moments, provided by Placar magazine.
