If, as the saying goes, seniority is a position, right-back Leonardo Moura is one of the players who must take on the responsibility in the current red-and-black squad. And he knows it. Having spent five years at Gávea, the number 2 is aware that he can be considered a reference within the group and, fearlessly, takes on this role.

When asked about the possibility of becoming team captain with goalkeeper Bruno's contract suspended, Leo explains that, regardless, for everything he has achieved at Fla, he does have to be an example in the squad.

"We'll leave that decision to the coach and the coaching staff. Whether I'm captain or not, I'll always have a responsibility here. I've been at Flamengo for five years, I've won many titles, and I'll always speak out and hold the rest of the group accountable. It's a source of pride to be captain again, but I'll leave it in the hands of the coaching staff," said the player, who reaffirmed his love for Flamengo.

"I still have a contract for another year. Here, I won my biggest titles. I never said I didn't want to stay. I want to finish my career at Flamengo. I've always had the entire structure here. I know the transfer window happens, but I'll only leave here if it's something very special for me and the club," he explained.

Trusting in the talent of the young red-black group, Leo believes in a victory in the classic against Botafogo, on the 14th, in Flamengo's return to the Brasileirão.

"We have to be ready. The squad is mature enough to start the game against Botafogo well and get a win. Love, who had been playing consistently, came off, but Diego came on, and regardless of the formation or the players who take the field, I'm sure we can come back strong," he added.
