Léo Moura celebrates comeback
By Flamengo Archive - inFlamengo's goal and assist in their 3-1 victory over Cruzeiro this Wednesday at Maracanã in the Brazilian Championship sealed the return of right-back Leonardo Moura's form. On Thursday, the player celebrated his return to his best form.
"I wasn't going through a good moment, and then I made that mistake in the game against Inter last week. But I'm an experienced, well-rounded player, and I managed to keep my composure. Against Cruzeiro, with the help of my teammates, I managed to put in a good performance and score a beautiful goal," commented the player, who is already looking forward to the derby against Vasco on Sunday.
"The opponent is coming off a big win, and it will be, as always, a tough match. Vasco's strength as a team is what sets them apart. We'll have to be alert to neutralize their plays and prevent the ball from reaching the attack. A win in a derby will give us the strength we need to continue this good run."
The good performance brought back a recurring issue whenever the player acts as a playmaker for the team: the return to midfield, the position in which he started playing.
"I'm not thinking about going back to playing midfield now. Maybe at the end of my career, when I no longer have the same energy. As a right-back, I still dream of playing for the Brazilian national team," he revealed.
