Leonardo Moura played 58 games this year, bringing his total to 308 matches across six seasons wearing the Flamengo jersey, but he wants more. The number 2 left the Vila Belmiro pitch this Sunday (December 05.12th) emphasizing that he wants to fulfill his contract with his beloved club until the end. His contract with Flamengo runs until the end of 2011, and he has already stated his desire to stay.
The Flamengo captain highlighted the team's good performance in this last game of the year, which was worthwhile because the team is close to securing a spot in next year's Copa Sudamericana. Furthermore, he noted that Flamengo achieved its goal of remaining in Série A.
"The team played well. I think the match, even though it was the last one, was worthwhile. We played good football, we finished in the first division, which was the most important thing," he stated.
After an exhausting season, competing in the Campeonato Carioca, the Libertadores Cup, and the Brasileirão, the right-back is now only thinking about resting and focusing on the 2011 season.
"I'm staying, I have a year left on my contract and everyone knows I'm happy at Flamengo. Now it's time to enjoy a bit of vacation, which I deserve," he concluded.
