Leo Moura and Willians receive awards in Rio
The full-back is the second best and the midfielder is the third best in his position in the Brasileirão Craque Award
By From the official website team - inThe season wasn't as good as last year's, but Flamengo still won individual awards in this year's Brazilian Championship. Right-back Leonardo Moura was the second-best right-back in the competition, while midfielder Willians took home the bronze trophy for right-back. The awards ceremony took place at an event held at the Municipal Theater in Rio de Janeiro on Monday night (December 05.12).
\The event was attended by distinguished guests, including President Lula, Governor Sergio Cabral, and Mayor Eduardo Paes, as well as a performance by the drum section and front commission of Unidos da Tijuca, Rio Carnival champions, and stand-up comedy by Marcelo Adnet. The 1970 World Cup champions and Ronaldo, the "five-time champion," received special honors. Flamengo samba singers Diogo Nogueira and Arlindo Cruz also performed. Leonardo Moura was unable to attend the event, but Williams represented Flamengo at the awards ceremony.
"I just want to thank those who voted for me. If I'm on the list again, it's a result of the work I did, which was very good. I have to keep putting it into practice," he celebrated.
The Championship's team of the year consisted of Fabio, Mariano, Dedé, Miranda, and Roberto Carlos; Jucilei, Elias, Montillo, and Conca; and Jonas and Neymar. Muricy Ramalho was named best coach, and Sandro Meira Ricci was named referee of the year. Bruno Cesar won the award for revelation, and Conca was named fan favorite.
Flamengo has a strong track record in the Brasileirão Awards. In 2006, Renato was named one of the best midfielders, as well as "Crack of the Crowd." The following year, Ibson also won the award, and the Flamengo fans received the "Torcida de Ouro" trophy. In 2008, Leonardo Moura, nominated again this year, was named best right-back. Juan was named best left-back.
Last year, when the Red-Black team won its sixth title, it received more awards: Petkovic as one of the best midfielders, Adriano as best striker and Goal King, Golden Fans for the Nation, and Andrade as best coach. Bruno, Juan, and Willians were also nominated for their respective positions.
