Leo Moura praises the arrival of Vanderlei Luxemburgo

Player worked with the coach at Palmeiras in 2002 and now wants to "collect debt" from the commander

Among the many players in Flamengo's current squad who have previously played under coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo is right-back Leonardo Moura. The Flamengo captain worked with the new coach at Palmeiras in 2002 and now wants to collect a debt from Vanderlei.

After praising the coach's work extensively, Leo explained that, since that season, he had wanted to be coached by Luxemburgo again.

"I'm biased when it comes to Vanderlei. He owed me a debt, since he left Palmeiras and now he's back to coach Flamengo. He's a good guy for the group, he's here to help, with a great resume, and he told us that we have to work to get to the top of the table," said the full-back, who joked about the coach's constant scoldings during training.

"He's quite a handful, you've seen him do it (laughs). But he knows how to talk to us. Every coach has their own philosophy," he said.

Leo also highlighted the strength of the squad that Luxa will find. According to him, the group has everything it takes to get out of the bottom of the table.

"We have a good group and important games ahead. We've had one game after another and that was hindering us. Now we have a little more time to think and work. These are players who have already played and are capable of being here. Whoever comes in will be up to the task," he concluded.
