One of Flamengo's standout players this season, Léo Moura is close to renewing his contract with the Gávea Club for another four years. Voted the best right-back in the Brazilian Championship, Léo shone in Flamengo's run to qualifying for the 2008 Copa Libertadores. Vice-president of football Kleber Leite believes the outcome is very close.

- "We have reached an agreement that pleases both parties. Everything is on track, and I believe that the new contract will be signed in the next few hours."

Léo Moura has played 138 games for Flamengo and scored 14 goals. The number two player won the 2006 Copa do Brasil and the 2007 Campeonato Carioca.
