Leo Moura uses the Spanish national team as an example
The full-back believes that winning games by just one goal difference shouldn't bother the red-blacks
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inFlamengo's players and coaching staff have been frequently questioned about the fact that the team is only scoring one goal per match in the Brasileirão. However, the Flamengo fans believe this shouldn't be seen as a flaw. Quite the opposite. Full-back Leonardo Moura even cites the Spanish national team, the world champions, as an example that efficiency is more important than showmanship.
"We can't think about thrashing. The idea is to win. Spain won the World Cup by always winning like this, 1-0, 2-1... Let's take it step by step. Winning games is the most important thing," he said.
The captain also believes that another factor hindering Flamengo's performances is that all teams are trying to take points from the current Brazilian champion.
"Playing against Flamengo always gives the opponent greater motivation. Even more so because we are the current champions. But we also have to be motivated to defend the title. That's our goal," said the player, who sees Flamengo in a position to beat Inter next Sunday despite the absences.
"From the first game, Welinton delivered. Kleberson returned from the national team and still needs a bit of chemistry, but he's a very high-quality player, and we lost that in the game against Inter. But whoever comes in will try to help the Flamengo team," he added.
